○ Hey guys! This presentation was great...It was really informative and not putting a lot of text on the slides was a solid component. I liked to hear about his legacy about nature and how that's affected other writings. It ran a little long as we know, but other than that, it went well! Good job guys!
Mitchel and Duncan, You guys did a really good job of making your presentation easy for us to follow despite the inherent difficulty that comes with presenting online. I do wish you had read more of Berry's works so you could give us recommendations.

Wendell Berry Feedback
Wendell Berry is not an author that I know about too much, however from listening to this presentation I learned a tremendous amount. I enjoyed the parts about self-sustainability and his beliefs that we owe everything to nature. If I could give any helpful criticisms for the presentation, I would say to maybe include a little bit more information on his negative criticisms. The information on the positive criticisms was good, I would just like to learn a little more about the negative side of things. Another possibility might be to include a little bit more about his Creative Nonfiction pieces. But overall, I really enjoyed the presentation!
This presentation was really enjoyable to listen to! I really like how much he believed in self-sustainability and that “small-scale farming will be what save the generations to come”. The piece of construction criticism I would offer is I think sharing a passage or poem about his self-sustainability would have made the presentation a bit more effective. The presentation was very informational!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know much about this author until your presentation! I could tell you guys really did your research about him, especially to go over time! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that you guys chose Wendell Berry, because he is an author that has completely been under my radar. I really don't know how, because I would read any environmentalist who doesn't trust the government any day of the week. I think it's really cool that you guys did so much research on the life that he lives behind his works. I think it would have been interesting if you included a quote from his works that speaks to his philosophies though. Overall, really enjoyed. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYour presentation was really interesting! I found the parallels between Berry and Thoreau fascinatingly similar, and I liked how deeply you drove home his Naturalist/Environmentalist beliefs. If I had to offer a constructive criticism, I would say that the information you covered was very broad strokes; covering all of his works instead of just his nonfiction pieces. You might have wanted to lean more into that genre. All-in-all excellent presentation!

I really enjoyed your presentation, I could tell you both had done a lot of research on him. You talked a
lot about his life before becoming a writer, which was really interesting to learn about. Giving us all the
information for why he writes is always a cool thing to know.
I really enjoyed the presentation. You could tell that you guys dug deeper than the surface to find out some different information and had an interest in Berry’s life and his work. I would suggest covering not just his nonfiction, but other works as well. Great work nonetheless!
