○ Hey guys! I really liked your presentation, and you worked with your circumstances really well. One of my favorite books is A Farewell to Arms, so his writing is great. There wasn't much about his style that I understood, but you were able to answer that more clearly when asked questions. Overall, a really good job you two!
Ian and Braden, I think that you guys did a good job of not of not getting flustered when technology was getting in the way of your presentation. Like Mike, I would have liked to have heard more about Hemingway's writing style.

Ernest Hemingway
After reading a bit of Hemingway in class, I became a lot more interested in his work. This presentation definitely gave me a lot of new and very interesting information about him. If I were to suggest anything for this presentation, I would maybe include a little bit more about his criticisms. Not too much more, because there was a little bit of information on his criticisms. Another suggestion I would make would be to include a bit more about his overall style of writing, like what the majority of his writings chalked up to be theme wise. But overall, this presentation was very informational and enjoyable!
This presentation helped me learn a lot more about Ernest Hemingway and his works and accomplishments. It’s a great honor he was able to receive the Pulitzer Prize. I found it really interesting how he killed himself because he was in two back-to-back accidents causing him to be ill minded and in a lot of pain. One suggestion I would make is including more on the influence of his writings. The presentation was done very well!
ReplyDeleteI remember reading some of Hemingway's work back in high school and at that time we did little research into his background. I actually remember really dreading to sit down and read his work but looking back now I think that was just my ignorance as to who he was a person and his reasoning for writing how he did. Your presentation definitely opened my eyes more into not only the writer but the man he was and I'm curious to go back and re-read the books of his I did in high school now that I know more about him! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, shout out to Braedon for making presenting on his lunch break. You clearly are overcoming this limitation in ways that I couldn't even imagine. I like that you guys talked so much about the themes Ernest Hemingway plays with, because they are so prevalent in his work. I would have liked to know more about the methods and styles that he used in his short stories specifically, but your presentation was very interesting still. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this presentation! Hemingway is one of those writers that almost everyone has heard of in some capacity, but it was only while listening to your presentation did I realize how little I knew about him. I found the details that you included about his personal life fascinating. If I had to offer constructive criticism, I would say that I would have liked to here more about the impact his writing had on other works as well as modern culture. Despite your Technical difficulties, the two of you still had a solid, informative presentation that I quite appreciated.

I already knew a little bit about Ernest Hemingway before this presentation, because of an English class I
took in high school, and the teacher was obsessed with him. But you’re presentation was very
informative about some of the information I hadn’t known. Well done guys!
