Summer Jordan- Journal 2

Hello!  My name is Summer Jordan and I am a sophomore here at OSU Marion majoring in middle childhood education focusing in the areas of language arts and social studies.  Some of my hobbies include hanging out with friends, listening to music, going on random adventures, and reading whenever I find the time.  One thing I am continuing to looking forward to in this class is how to better myself as a writer, not only academically, but especially creatively.  I have already learned ways to make improvements in my writing and I am excited to continue on and expand my knowledge even more.  A fun fact about me is I have two older brothers, one of which that lives in Toledo and has a job as a senior lab technologist as he has his degree in Biochemistry.  My other brother lives in Sandusky with his wife and they just had a son about a month ago so I am an aunt for the very first time!

So far in the textbook Four Genres in Brief, I have found the term and use of enjambment to be really helpful as I have noticed where one chooses to break a stanza can affect the poem in a major way. I’ve learned that the line of a stanza doesn’t have to be a final thought or always end with a type of punctuation, something I am really trying to get used to—to get rid of the formality in my writing.

  1. That's really great Summer! I hope you will continue to pursue your passion and congrats on becoming an aunt! I know I can't wait for the day when I become an uncle.
